What is Fiber optic cable
Cabelte produced the first (multimode) optical cable in Portugal in 1983, which was supplied to the Institute for the Development of Communications (IDC) through an experimental connection between Inesc and IDC at the Instituto Superior Técnico. The first cable produced for commercialization is called "light guide cable", which directly translates the characteristics of the optical fiber of an optical waveguide, it is composed of 50/125 multimode optical fibers of compact structure and consists of 4 to 6 optical fibers. The client is the old CTT / TLP. Managed Fiber services Cabelte's fiber optic cable production increased significantly in the early 1990s when dedicated fiber optic cable ships were built and "loose" technology was introduced. Since then, due to the nature of fiber optics itself, especially the low attenuation associated with the near infinite bandwidth (single-mode fiber optics), fiber optics is increasingly recognized as one of the leading chan...
